FAQ – Apply for a RAIC 

Location: The Access Control Office is located at Domestic Terminal Building Level 1 – Room 1111, next to the Medical Clinic. 

Once the Access Control Office approve the application package, you will receive an email to book the first appointment to attend the Access Control Office. At the time of your first appointment, please be early and present all original IDs mentioned in your Transportation Security Clearance application to the Access Control Office. 

Once Transport Canada approve the security clearance, the Access Control Office will send you another email to book a second appointment. At that time, you do not need to bring original IDs. You will bring your current pass, access card and parking prox card (if applicable) for your second appointment. 

For New or Renewal Appointments – Primary Identification (declare your status in Canada) (Must submit one of the primary identifications below – copy or photo of ID is not acceptable) Born in Canada • Birth Certificate Born outside of Canada • Citizenship Card / Certificate / Commemoration • Permanent Residence Card (Valid) • IMM 5292 (Landing Document) • IMM 5688 • Work Permit (Valid) • Study Permit (Valid) • Canadian Born Abroad For New or Renewal Appointments – Secondary Identification (additional recent identification) (Must submit one of the secondary identifications below – copy or photo of ID is not acceptable). • Passport (Valid) • Driver’s License (Valid) • BC Service Card (Valid) • Provincial ID (Valid) • Nexus Card (Valid) • Any other valid government issued photo ID Notes: 1) FIRST TIME (NEW) - if your primary identification is lost or stolen and has not been replaced, Transport Canada will not accept or process your TSC application.

 2) RENEWAL – if your primary identification is lost or stolen, a proof of replacement receipt is acceptable. When the replacement document arrives, it is mandatory to provide a copy to Transport Canada via the Access Control Office. 3) Birth Certificate issued by Quebec province is not accepted if issued before Jan 1, 1994.
