Student Internship Practicum: Prepress / Digital Print Production Technician

Qualifications:

• Proficient in graphic design software such as Corel Draw and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher.
• Knowledge of setting up prepress files for printing, including color calibration, imposition, bleeds, and crops.
• Experience with sending jobs to print and understanding RIP systems, trapping, and color separations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Competency in reading and interpreting job tickets for specific instructions.
• Proficient in PC operations.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks with great attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Review digital print production work orders and job tickets for detailed instructions.
• Design, impose, and layout digital files for printing.
• Send proofs to customers as required.
• Print all approvals and include them in the job jacket alongside a sample.
• Follow up on proofs daily.
• Execute jobs according to work orders.
• Organize and file artwork using the established archiving system.
