Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Software QA Intern to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing and validation. This role involves working closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to identify, document, and resolve issues, ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining test plans and test cases.
- Execute manual testing for various software applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects in collaboration with senior team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide feedback.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform basic regression and functional testing.
- Analyze test results and report findings to the development team.
- Contribute to improving testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with QA trends, tools, and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software QA methodologies and processes.
- Familiarity with manual testing concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in writing documentation to describe bug behavior and reproduction steps.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with varying deadlines and importance.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is a plus.
- Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Interest in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
How We Work:
- Fully remote
- Our main hub is in Vancouver, with teams working in EST and PST time zones.
- Collaboration hours: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST
